Novare Trophy for SA Terroir Top Wine Area

The Inkara Cabernet Sauvignon 2011 and Jacques Bruére Brut Rosé 2007 from Bon Courage Estate in the Klaasvoogds area outside Robertson are two of the Top 5 Estate Wines, as well as being the National Winners for the Top Cabernet Sauvignon and the Top Sparkling Wine. Kranskop Wines, from the Klaasvoogds terrains also garnered two National Winners for the Top Viognier and Top Sweet Wine, with their Kranskop Viognier 2012 and Viognier Noble Late Harvest 2011. De Wetshof, an estate in the Goudmyn area bordering Klaasvoogds clinched the National Winner for the Top Chardonnay, with the De Wetshof Bateleur 2009.
These tightly bunched cellars, with their five National Winners, thus ensured the fourth Novare Trophy for the SA Terroir Top Wine Area went to neighbouring Robertson terrains of Klaasvoogds and Goudmyn

Novare Trophy for SA Terroir Top Wine Estate

Novare Trophy for SA Terroir Top Wine Estate for 2013 is awarded to Bon Courage Wine Estate.  The Inkara Cabernet Sauvignon 2011 and Jacques Bruére Brut Rosé 2007 from Bon Courage Estate in the Klaasvoogds area outside Robertson are two of the Top 5 Estate Wines, as well as being the National Winners for the Top Cabernet Sauvignon and the Top Sparkling Wine. The Bruwer family clinched the third annual Novare Trophy for the SA Terroir Top Wine Estate.

SA Terroir Top 5 Estate Wines

The SA Terroir Top 5 Estate Wines were once again selected by the esteemed panel of judges. South Africa’s top five estate wines are Bon Courage Inkará Cabernet Sauvignon 2011, Bon Courage Jacques Bruére Brut Rosé 2007, Diemersdal Eight Rows Sauvignon Blanc 2013, Morgenster 2010 (red blend) and  the Nelson Cabernet Sauvignon/ Merlot 2008.

Results of Novare Bursary Scheme

The Novare bursary was presented to Kayla Koul at the annual graduations ceremony of Cape Institute for Agricultural training in December 2012. She applied to the Department of Agriculture, Sub-Programme Further Education and Training, to the learnership programme, after she learnt about it at school. The FET sub-programme held a school visit and the grade 11 and 12 groups was informed about the opportunities in the agricultural sector. Thereafter Kayla applied and completed the National Certificate in Mixed Farming (NQF Level 01) at the Bredasdorp Campus, obtaining 86%.
