The Novare Trophy for SA Terroir Top Wine Area has been awarded to Stellenbosch Kloof for the second time in three years, thanks mainly to the contributions of Jordan and Neethlingshof.

Jordan Wine Estate, which belongs to the Jordan family, boasts three national winners, one of the Top 5 Estate Wines and also the Novare Trophy for SA Terroir Top Wine Estate.

Novare Trophy of SA´s Top Terroir Producer
Jordan Estate in the Stellenbosch Kloof area won the first Novare Trophy for South Africa’s Top Terroir Producer due to their many achievements.
The estate, which belongs to the Jordan family, boasts three national winners, one of the Top 5 Estate Wines and also the Novare Trophy for SA Terroir Top Wine Estate. In addition, the Novare Trophy for SA Terroir Top Wine Area has been awarded to Stellenbosch Kloof for the second time in three years, thanks mainly to the contributions of Jordan and Neethlingshof.
Jordan’s three national winners are for the Top Chenin Blanc (the Jordan Chenin Blanc 2013), the Top Sauvignon Blanc (the Jordan Sauvignon Blanc 2013) and the Top White Blend (the Jordan Chameleon 2013). The latter was also selected as one of the Top 5 Estate Wines. In addition to the three national winners, the estate has also produced two other winners in the Stellenbosch district.

SA Terroir Top 5 Estate Wines
The SA Terroir Top 5 Estate Wines were once again selected by the esteemed panel of judges. South Africa’s top five estate wines are Neethlingshof Maria Noble Late Harvest 2013, Jordan Chameleon 2013, Bergsig Riesling 2013, Bon Courage Jacques Bruére Blanc de Blanc 2009 and the Wildekrans Barrel Select Reserve Shiraz 2012.

Results of Novare Bursary Scheme
The Novare bursary was presented to Noxolo Sympathia Bunu at the annual graduations ceremony of Cape Institute for Agricultural training in December 2013. She took up the opportunity to study at Elsenburg when she was selected for the 2013 Learnership Program. Noxolo was selected class captain for the Vegetable Production group of 2013. She achieved 82% average during her Learnership year and achieved the National Certificate: Plant Production NQF 4 (142 Credits). She is currently registered at Elsenburg for the Higher Certificate in Agriculture is determined to achieve her goal to become a Sustainable Agriculturalist.
